Agropolitan Project
the meaning of agropolitan
Agropolitan is an agricultural city that grows and develops due to the operation of the agribusiness system and business and is able to serve, encourage, attract, carry out agricultural development activities (agricultural business sector in a broad sense) in the surrounding area.[1] Some regions apply the agropolitan concept for regional progress. This is based on the fact that most of Indonesia's territory is agrarian/agricultural. The Agropolitan concept is an effort made by the government to develop regions through optimizing plant and animal resources, namely agriculture, plantations, fisheries and animal husbandry. If an area only has fishery potential, it can also be called a minapolitan.
The development of agropolitan/minapolitan areas is part of the territorial potential of the district where the agropolitan areas are located. The development of agropolitan/minapolitan areas which are the strengthening of agricultural/fishery production centers based on internal strength, will be able to act as areas of economic growth that have inter- and intra-regional competence.[2] Agropolitan is an agricultural-based economic area and is characterized by superior commodities, with limits on economic scale/business scale without being limited by administrative areas. The goal in developing this agropolitan area is to create an agropolitan area and the development of a local economy based on regional superior products that are effective, efficient, transparent and sustainable.
